Gary Padmore

Director of Education and Community Engagement,
New York Philharmonic

Gary Padmore is the Director of Education and Community Engagement at the New York Philharmonic. He oversees all of the organization’s educational programs; helps expand its community profile; and works internally and externally to address longstanding issues of inequity and exclusion. Previously, he oversaw education and community programs at Orchestra of St. Luke’s where he started a music series exclusively centered around composers of color; Midori & Friends; and Brooklyn Philharmonic. A trumpet player and native New Yorker, Gary holds degrees in music and a certification in music education from Queens College and Mannes College.
