Health and Safety

CMA’s 2023 Conference will follow local, state, and federal guidelines regarding health and safety. If additional guidelines are announced during the conference, these policies are subject to change.

New York City is a dense metropolitan area with unique challenges regarding health and safety. Local COVID-19 guidelines can be viewed on the NYC Health Website

CMA strongly recommends that attendees are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

If you test positive for COVID-19, DO NOT ATTEND the conference. Additionally, if you are feeling sick or experiencing flu-like symptoms, please stay home. Contact conference@chambermusicamerica.org for illness-related refunds.

At the Conference
  • Mask Up: CMA strongly encourages wearing a high-quality CDC-recommended mask (such as a KN95 mask) at all conference activities except when eating, drinking, or performing.
    • It is appropriate to mask up in all common areas including, but not limited to sessions and workshops, showcases, the exhibit hall, and special events.
  • Badge Stickers: Use the circular name badge stickers (provided in the registration room) to indicate comfort level when greeting or interacting with other participants.
    • GREEN: No preference
      • Comfortable with handshakes and consensual hugs
    • YELLOW: Limit physical contact
      • Comfortable with touching elbows or shoulders
    • RED: Social distancing
      • Avoid physical contact and allow personal space
  • Wash Up: Please wash your hands with soap and water regularly, and especially after eating or touching your face. Please use hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available.
In New York City
  • When riding public transit, please wear a mask as recommended by NYC health officials. Small actions like this help keep the NYC-community safe.

Thank you for helping to keep our community safe.
